A good day learning, networking and preparing to re-introduce mentoring into our organisational people development system to complement a coaching culture. Both coaching AND mentoring are key people development processes for highly effective organisations.
The key considerations are integration and sustainability. That will be our challenge.
I benefited much from mentoring when I started my vocation as a Captain of Lives. Time to pay it forward by encouraging more of our leaders to become mentors building the next generation of leaders.
The timing is perfect as well. At the national level, mentoring is gaining traction. With the launch of MentoringSG, more resources will be made available for organisations that want to promote a mentoring culture.
